I learn as I go. I still do not like the government intruding into my life. And Obama advice to the lady who's mother was over 100 (105 now) who wanted a pace maker. She is still mobile and productive for her age and the daughter wanted to know if his HC plan would stop her from getting the operation. His reply, maybe she should take a pill for the pain. That is what people like me (I'll be 65 next month so start saving now for my present)and a diabetic, with one heart attack behind me, is worried about. So I am real happy to know that I might get passed over for anything I might need to stay alive just because I might not live x number of years to validate the surgery. Hell, they can take a pacemaker and reuse it if the person dies. Again, and Razorbeck are free to comment at any length here. Just know that I am against Obama and his thugs and the likes of Pelosi and her ilk. I will fight socialism to my dying day. I want a free America with small government and the opportunity of anyone to achieve the American Dream. That aside , I like jokes, too.

I also read today on Twitter that England is refusing hospitalization to smokers and obese people.

OUR FUTURE! There are very few doctor's that are getting rich. Medicare sets a fee schedule and insurance companies negotiate rates based on that amount. The days of charging what you feel is fair are long gone. You are right about the great healthcare in the US but one of my very huge concerns is that R & D are profit motivated. The government isn't going to have the same incentives to create the next great drug or respiratory machine if there is no profit to be made. It is fine for Razor to say how wonderful his system is but he may want to look at where the pharmaceutical companies that create the drugs are and the stock sales that made it happen.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111075448510276679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-22148036050464158892009-08-11T17:20:18.318-04:002009-08-11T17:20:18.318-04:00This issue is going to be debated for years to com...This issue is going to be debated for years to come. The current proposal doesn't even effect much of the country. It is for folks making less than 45K a year. It has payment caps so that it can't be abused and will be paid for with increased taxes for people making over 350K a year.

Just a little known fact CP from an insider. Of all the health insurance companies I deal with on a daily basis, Medicare is far the most efficiently. Did you read your post where it says they will have access to your bank accounts? Well, that is true to a point..just like Medicare does already. They direct deposit funds in the provider's or hospital accounts within 20 days of the receipt of a claim. If this thing runs NEAR the same as Medicare, I am all for it. My issues go a little deeper than that and I am not going to highjack your blog to rag on this thing. People all over the country are doing that just fine.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111075448510276679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-46515165110201878922009-08-11T17:16:15.911-04:002009-08-11T17:16:15.911-04:00Rasorbeck, I am both happy and sad for your sister...Rasorbeck, I am both happy and sad for your sister. Sad that she is ailing, and happy that she received quick attention. There are always exception to the rules. I have blogger friends who live in Canada and England and they tell different tales. Yes, doctors are getting rich. Okay! They save lives, have many years of schooling and training and deserve the rewards of their labor. And there are many clerks at hospitals and that is mostly because of government reports and quotas and stuff. The insurance companies also need their bit of attention, too. But the system works and is the BEST HC in the world.

Again, I hope your sister has an easy time of it.Coffeypothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08601474604616163167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-82688879536143045752009-08-11T16:50:43.119-04:002009-08-11T16:50:43.119-04:00This is nuts Government managed healthcare while n...This is nuts Government managed healthcare while not a panacea is perfectly efficient and the only reason so many people are against it is because they ssee their mega-profits disapearing.

I am Canadian and despite the shit you are hearing our system works very damn well

My sister 2weeks ago was having stomache troubles and went to see her doctor, she was in the hospital in minutes had a battery of tests and retests, diagnosed with Cancer and had a conference with an oncologist all with in 1 week of going to see her doctor.

and what did it cost her??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, beat that with your private healthcare that is suposedly the envy of the world!!!!

Doctor's hate the system because they actually don't make as much money unless they actually have a strong patient load

From Chris's stand point it isn't so great because instead of floors or whole buildings dedicated to billing clerks a 400 bed hospital would have 3 clerks

From a corporate stand point it is a dream (unless you are health insurance company) you don't have legacy costs hanging over your head from retired employees. That what really killed GM and Dodge and many other companiesrazorbeckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09383887351590485874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-54684791852490057222009-08-11T15:59:04.397-04:002009-08-11T15:59:04.397-04:00Christine, I actually think some of what you said ...Christine, I actually think some of what you said is true. Admittedly I did not research this before I posted it. But the essence of it is true. Any government controlled Health Care package, or any program, will be ruinous to this country. They have fucked up everything they have EVER touched. It should be controlled by private industry with only a few reigns on the insurance industry.

ObamaCare has already stated it will cut $500 million from MediCare, and they are gearing up to form death squads to refuse medical, and surgical care for the elderly. And, by the way, those fuckers in Washington will not be effected by the HC bill.

And I will use every opportunity to expose and ridicule this asshole until the American people come to their senses and vote him out of office.

And if you really want to know what he is doing, go read your history of Germany when that little fucker took over the banks, insurance and every other function. He was socialist, too.

And thanks for the link. I will go read it.Coffeypothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08601474604616163167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-47488421519278148342009-08-11T15:46:28.503-04:002009-08-11T15:46:28.503-04:00http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi...http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h3200ih.pdf Here is the actual bill if anyone is interested.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111075448510276679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31409757.post-20814776602344910982009-08-11T15:44:56.708-04:002009-08-11T15:44:56.708-04:00Booo CP. The issues in your post have incorrect page numbers, interpretations and on occasion the issue written about doesn't correspond in anyway to the page number referenced or any page number at all! I am not thrilled about this bill personally and it needs lots of work but PLEASE don't take this crap as fact. It is a mess. People are sending it to their representatives and look like a bunch of idiots. Perhaps it started out as an accurate interpretation but it has been plucked upon so much that it is a mess.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111075448510276679noreply@blogger.com
