And Again

Posted by Picasa

I am on my way to Niskayuna, NY, and other places in the general area again with a load of puppies and dogs.

I always look forward to the ubiquitous road work like the one above. But I have my audio books, so it isn't that bad.

I also have received three warnings and two speeding tickets in the past two years for speeding (both in the early a.m. with no one else on the road - I guess he had to do something to stay awake, too.) So now I only lease vans with cruse control. It kills me to be running 75 mph when I could be running 90 (and more comfortable at this speed.) But I must try to be good. I must try to be good. I must try to be good. (My new mantra)

I'll be stopping in Winchester, VA on the return trip tomorrow night, so I'll try to check in then. This weekend I will publish a new meme that I borrowed from Tookie Tails.

Later, Peeps!

  1. If they didn't close the road, those pylons and sandbags would be a real hazard.

  2. They have to have dogs shipped in to New York State? Imagine that!

And I'll bet those speeding tickets ain't cheap either.

  3. Well with my dad being a retired highway patrolman, and my husband an E.M.T. in a place that covers all the highway and reservation idiots.

I think you could guess what I would say about speeding.

So...pay your dam tickets and stop bitching, you were the one breaking the law, and luckily they didn't have to scrape some family or those puppies of the road.

    I still likes ya though.

  4. Our fair village of about 25K, and an average IQ of 70 (lucky I am here to up the score)... had be put on the utmost idiot alert opposing a "round-about" near the post office, citing no one will ever be able to mail packages or get stamps anymore due to the complicated traffic pattern.

I note here it is round and therefore one of the least complicated shapes in our current world. Most of the residents are resistant to change to include marrying outside the family, so those that have welcomed the exrodianry invention have been shunned in the local paper as Satanic worshippers. Luckily the pagans are still able to navigate the roundabout to get to the PO in order to send their pagan friends and family Christmas packages and cards.
I have faith in our society - but it triggers a survival instinct reminding me that perhaps the gene pool does not always consume the stupid....

    What was the question?

  5. Have an enjoyable, safe trip.

At the lower speed you are on the road for a longer time. This translates to more time enjoying your audio-books.

  6. I didn't know you buzzed through Ohio!! The Orange Barrel is our state bird!!

(actually, that's why the roads are in such terrible condition-- it's all the weight from those damned barrels and concrete dividers that put too much pressure on the roads and crack 'em all up!!)

Travel safe!! Bring back stories and pictures!!

  7. 90?!?!?!?!?!?

So you're that guy in the van that always rides my bumper in the left lane when I'm doing 75-80 through parts of Georgia.

  8. There really should've been one of those signs on my way home from my girl's weekend with Clew this past weekend!

  9. I have relatives in Niskayuna, NY.

I love this: If they didn't close the road, those pylons and sandbags would be a real hazard. LOL!

Funny picture, too. I ran into lots of ridiculous construction on my two recent trips, too! You are doing GOOD WORK John! Keep it up, but be safe. And if you can't be safe, be careful.
