Know Your Place

Women seem to have forgotten their place. It's because they don't teach Home Ec 101 anymore in high school. Therefore it's time for a refresher course. So all you gals read carefully and take notes. If you have to quit work and stay home to make life better for your man, then so be it. You will be much happier knowing you are contributing to the wellbeing of the family. Also, wearing a dress with high heels and a pearl necklace and no panties will be a nice touch, too.

  2. I'd love to stay home and not work, but my husband wants me to work.
So he gets to do his own laundry.
If I could stay home and still get a paycheck for doing house work, that would be even better.
A nice string of real pearls (the ones that come from oysters) would be lovely!!

  3. Hey - I'd love to be a SAHM - and if wearing the dress, pearls, and heels would be all it would take... you betcha - homemade meals, and cake and all that Betty Crocker crap.. Heck - I might even match the socks.

Anyway I could get a paycheck to do all that?

  4. Lindi, you would get paid. You just will not get a check. You'll get free meals, all you have to do is cook them. You'll get free clothes and shopping money and a grocery allowance from your poop overworked husband. Plus you get to have lunches with all the soccer moms and tennis queens. Margaritas and gossip. And soaps and Oprah! Seems like a happy life to me.

Fantastagirl, where have you been? You say you went to Wordpress but left no link. How do I get there?

I did notice there were no comments about the no panties thing. Encouraging!

  5. No panties is a little difficult if you have kids at home....if i walk through in my nightgown ..long flannel nightgown, my son will say "you are wearing underwear aren't you"
If I say no, both kids go EWWWW!

  7. Lindi, and the hubby says, “oooooohhhh”.

Teri, now don’t you worry your pretty little head over a big old 2 x 4. Women don’t need to bother themselves with nasty things like that.

  9. Put another log on the fire,
cook me up some bacon and some beans,
And go out to the car and change my tire,
Wash my socks, and sew my old blue jeans,
Come on baby, you can fill my pipe,
And then go and fetch my slippers,
And boil me up another pot of tea,
Then put another log on the fire, babe,
And come and tell me why you're leaving me.

  11. Are there, or have there ever been women that do this sort of shit?

I was born in 1978, I must've really missed the bus!

  12. Mud Puppy, yes there really were textbooks teaching young girls how to be a good wife and mother. I graduated in ‘62 and there was a required class for girls called Home Economics that taught them how to cook, sew and darn. Some of the guys would take the class, but it was to get close to the girls. They actually baked cakes and cookies and sewed dresses and all that girly stuff. The book I pictured is an actual textbook from that era. I long for the good old days.

  13. coffeypot...hold on one minute, son! You long for those moments? WHOA!
I remember in Jr. High (before it was renamed Middle School) the dress code changed, allowing girls to wear shorts or pants. My dad set her own rule, that his five daughters were allowed to wear pants one day/week to school. In high school, girls took Home Economics (I learned how to broil grapefruit) and the guys took shop. My homeroom was the shop class...I so wanted to take that class. May I state my two favorite tools are a lopper and a chain saw?
As much as I do belive there was a simpler life...with mom at home tending to the children, house and groceries, while dad toiled at his 9-5...don't you feel that some women were suffocated...perhaps a little????
I love my family. My children have been by far one of my greatest accomplishments and my greatest of joys!!! but, I have my own business and that is way cool! I also hold a management position where I work.
Don't get me wrong, I'll never burn a bra or talk the feminist BS...but there is a gray area, which deserves respect!
Women who love their families...but also respect themselves!!!

  14. AM, chill, hon. It was said tongue-in-cheek, though it was a different era. I, too, took woodshop and made the ubiquitous tie hanger and flowerpot stand/stool with little loss of my own blood. Girls could only wear jeans on blue-jeans day. Never shorts, except during PE (in which the boys COULD NOT go in the gym.) I do believe in EVERYBODY having a chance to excel in anything they undertake. Especially those time honored professions like prostitution, maids and cooks.(Again, tongue in cheek)

P.S. have you ever broiled grapefruit? if not, don't!

  16. Why would I want too? What was the reason for doing so? To make an untraceable toxic chemical to give to an abusive husband, per chance?
