Happy 236th Birthday to the US Navy

Happy Birthday to the US Navy. 236 Years of WoopAss!

The Navy’s main stay – Carrier with air-groups, Destroyer and Submarine

US NAVY BATTLE GROUP (Destroyer Squadron – DESRON)

My ship – USS FRANK E. EVANS  DD754 - Less We Forget...

I is a good feeling to know that these guys, along with our pals The Canucks, The Aussies and the Brits, are on patrol safeguarding our countries and that we allow other nations to roam OUR seas.

Happy Birthday, Mates.

  1. Admiral Mark Mischer (? all of a sudden I can't think of how to spell his name) was my great-uncle by marriage. I never met him, but I certainly respect the proud tradition of the Navy. A building at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, is named after the admiral.

  2. Lola, do you mean Adm Mark Mitchner? He was a well liked Adm during WWII. He served 37 years, dying in office.

  3. Yes, his name was Mark. I just looked on the family tree. The last name is spelled Mitscher. When we lived in Maryland sometimes we would go to the Naval Academy to stroll around. I was always proud to point out to my children that there was a building named after him. I wish I had known him, but he died in 1947, a little before my time. He's buried in Arlington.
