Well, after almost a year I am headed back to New York today.
My stepdaughter, Dr. Amber, and her able bodied assistant, Susan, were able to take over the old animal shelter in Winder and turned it into a Spay and Neuter Clinic (Leftover Pets, Inc.) That took the better part of a year of remodeling, repairs and setting up the surgical area while still driving all over North Georgia operating in the county shelters.
Now they are sending me on a rescue transport to Menands, NY, with a load of lonely dogs who will be going to a better life…even if it is in New York.
That means I might be doing my Nude Blogging on Monday night from the motel. For you new peeps, that is not as erotic as it sounds. Many times, while unloading the dogs, they are scared or nervous and will pee or worse on me. So when I get to the motel I shower and get ready for the homeward leg the next day. But I see no need to get dressed just to blog, so…nude blogging.
But I don’t guarantee it. Sometime I am so tire (I will stop after almost 35 hours on the road) that I just crash. Depends on how keyed up I am. But if I don’t log on and read your stuff, don’t be upset. I’m just not a young and spry as I once was.
Till then, Peeps…
Today I drove a leg of a transport from Georgia to Michigan. Be safe and don't overdo it.
ReplyDeleteTravel safe my friend :)

ReplyDeleteYou are a great American, for the thing you are doing with the dogs. Not the nude blogging.
ReplyDeletestay safe and drink a coffee at waffle house for me :)
ReplyDeletehugs!
Well, I think you're a great american for the nude blogging thing too - SOMEbody has to do it.
ReplyDeleteDr. Amber's spay & neuter clinic -- AAA+.
I can't imagine a home in NY for that large dog at the bottom. Poor thing will be neglected in an apartment and yelled at for whining about it......if he's lucky.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever kept one that tugged at your heart strings?
Living on such large land as you used to, I would have kept most of them. I'm weak that way.
p.s. Your clothes need ironing....oh....you're not wearing clothes. Sorry.
Safe travels, my friend!

Good luck Coffeepot. You will be missed...
ReplyDeleteStop and rest along the way friend! Lots of coffee in that coffee cup!
Good morning! I read your posts all the time but dont comment but today I had to. I am so glad you are doing this and giving these dogs a chance for a new life!! and to everyone who doesnt know NY, we are not all city and apartments. Menands is upstate NY where there are plenty of homes with yards and farm land! I live only two hours north of NY city and it is all farmland and Menands is over a hour north of me!! And if the southern shelters would stop being kill shelters and learn how to neuter or spay their animals they wouldnt have overcrowded shelters!! The shelter I volunteer at just adopted out 15 puppies that came from Louisiana that would have been killed for no reason! they are beautiful puppies!! so thank you Coffeypot for what you do and Amber too!!
ReplyDeleteJill from NY
I hope you are and have been driving safely -- with or without clothes.
ReplyDeleteBM, Jill from NY is right. I love driving through the Catskills any time of the year. Shades of green in the summer, the red and golds of the fall and the whit of the snow of winter make the drive worth it. Plus the neighborhoods are old and rustic. I would not live in NYC but would consider a summer home there. Don't care of live in there in the winter though.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jill, glad you stop by but would like to see some more comments. Why not start your own blog, too.
