Another Year Has Passed But I Haven't Yet

The years are really flying by now. I can feel it, too. This is a poem sent to me that might help you to understand me more than any meme's could. Enjoy!

Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.

Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.

I rack my brain for happy thoughts,
To put down on my pad,

But lots of things that come to mind
Just makes me kind of sad.

There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.

Now I fully understand
About 'Living in the Past'.

We used to go to friends homes
For baseball games and lunches,

Now we go to therapy, to hospitals,
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers
From parties that were gay.

Now we suffer body aches
And sleep the night away.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.

Now we ask for doggie bags;
Come home and take a pill.

We used to travel often
To places near and far.

Now we get backaches
From riding in the car.

We used to go out shopping
For new clothing at the Mall

But, now we never bother...
All the sizes are too small.

That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.

So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you get too old!!

Whoa, folks! I guess I should have made a disclaimer at the beginning. It is not my birthday – that happens in September, late in the month as I am a Libra. This was, in my mind, supposed to be about the New Year. However, in reality, it is just another joke passed to me by one of my email buddies and was just for the humor and sad truth of it. But now that I think about it, I should have held it until my birthday. Sorry for the confusion; and you don’t have to wish me another HBD in September because of it.

I'll be happy to send you a card for your birthday in September--just remind us, because in addition to ADHD, I also have CRS!

I thought it might be a new year's thing, I did I did.

My Pop was a Libra--so are you balanced and just?

Mary, what is CRS – Crazy as Rat Shit?

I think I’m more like “just unbalanced.”

I found another grey hair today.I don't really mind gaining pigment free hairs, it's the loss of energy, memory, and tolerance for everything not of my generation that drives me nuts! Oh yeah, I LOVE that poem :)

ha. too late.
Well, actually I still enjoy things - but not the same things I used to enjoy.

I'm going bird watching on Saturday morning. HOw's that for old woman entertainment!
