The Army turned me down for now. I mean, it could happen, but it would take a year or maybe longer. They've upped their enlistment standards because everyone has been enlisting, and they're meeting their missions and then some. Basically, no medical waivers (me, i had a c-section), no prior service (again, me) and you have to have a high school diploma, not a GED (doesn't apply to me.)
As for the dental job, I haven't heard from them yet.
My FIL owns an insurance agency. I'm going to go to the classes and take the test for property and casualty and hopefully get my license.

Crazy. I know. But when I move out, it'll only be me and my son. HOWEVER, I haven't quit smoking. I know you'll be disappointed... but it's one step at a time I guess.

Excellent quotes. One is less funny than it is interesting.

Re: "Any word you have to hunt for in a thesaurus is the wrong word. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Stephen King "

At first I thought that King was stating that he always thought of the best word to use, and attempting to find a better word with a greater nuance of meaning was impossible.

The truth in his remark is that when wishing to locate a better word in the thesaurus to best replace the word he initially chose, it didn't work.

Clearly he needed to avoid all possible words that were linked by the same meaning, and think of a better word on his own.

King is a prolific writer with a keen mind. I can imagine his not needing a thesaurus.

As for me, the thesaurus has saved me when doing academic writing for college assignments. But then, I am definitely not Stephen King.

Where did you find all those interesting and humorous quotes?

The Peter, Joyce, Young, and Nietzsche quotes were really good. With regard to Nietzsche, I've actually done that.

BlackendBoy, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I too am guilty of doing the same thing concerning the Nietzsche quote. I have been married to many years not to have.
