I copied this from Sargent Charlie.
The sad thing is the Democrats do not realize this. I believe that most Democrats love their country and want a better world. We all do. But the world of Big Government and Government controlled programs, higher taxes and loss of individual and business freedoms will not make it happen. We need to take back the control and give it to the people. The ONLY ones who prosper are the ones in charge in a Socialist (Liberal) society.
I looked this up in Snopes and the validity of the comment is under investigation.
Weaponizing Law Enforcement
-
Law Enforcement, by its very nature, is the pointy end of the stick, and
thus, it’s weaponized. When it becomes political, that’s a problem. When an

No shit Dick Tracy...
I don't know why the democrats don't see it. It boggles the mind.
Not that the repubilcRATS are any better, mind you.
the word needs to be spread
From my observations, experiences, education and etc….I don’t think all our problems are due to either democrats or republicans, but from the fact that we elect politicians instead of true leaders and managers to run our country, states, counties and cities. In so many cases, it seems we’re electing the lesser of 2 or 3 evils. Greed, corruption, arrogance, and stupidity are destroying all of our levels of government. I never understood this until I looked at these problems in places I was deployed.
Nobody, I agree that there are problems on both side of the house. That is one of the reasons I would vote for term limits. Get rid of some of those career politicians like Kennedy and get new blood and fresh ideas in place - I would hope.
Serge, I try my best…well, try some.
CI Dude, I agree. If people could go to other countries and see what it’s like it might make a difference. As it is right now, they are more concerned with the ‘rock stars’ than true diplomats. I just hope and pray that it doesn’t get too much worse and goes too far before they realize their mistake.
So an obiquous six-time canidate for President is quoted as saying that Socialism is coming to the US populace [because he was actually -surprise! a socialist] we are all supposed to fall over ourselves spreading HIS word? Because it MIGHT [gasp] come true?
No offense Coffey - but who the heck is this guy? And why is his quote so important in the scheme of things? It seems to have been pulled out of thin air. Or am I missing something?
Regardless of the comment's validity, we will never be a totally socialist nation, IMO.
Of course, coffeypot's rebuttal will be that I am being led astray.
The countries in which socialism has benefitted only the heads of state [refuse to say 'leadership'] are those under a dictator.
There are socialist countries not under dictatorship in which the citizens are not living at poverty level.
CI-Roller Dude correctly notes that many times we elect the " lesser of 2… …evils."
Skippy, his comments are as reasonable and thought provoking as any other person who gets quoted. Obama Lama is a Socialist, too. Is his words not as important as that asshole Thomas? The point is back in the 40’s he said what is happening today is happening. Even Nikita Kruschev, back in the 50’s, said that Communism would take over America without a shot being fired. It would come from within via our leaders. You see, Socialism and Communism are strongly desired by the affluent and powerful because it is so influential and powerful and gives them their status by taking it from the other people. Much like the Civil Rights Leaders. They get rich spouting off the wrongs being placed on their people, but they do nothing to change the statuesque. So, with all Our Holiness Obama Lama is trying to do is leading our country straight down the Liberal Social path.
BD, I hope you are correct in saying that the whole country will not become Socialist. But what the people want and think doesn’t matter if the laws are passed and the liberal programs take hold. I’m not a hard right conservative. I don’t agree with all the planks of the Republican platform, but I do strongly agree with small government, low taxes, individual freedoms and entrepreneurial growth. It seems that the people who are in the most need want the most handed to them free. No one wants to work and improve their lives. GIVE ME, GIVE ME, GIVE ME. If we take away all the handout programs people will have to what?…Go to work and make a living for themselves. But then they couldn’t afford their cell phones, plasma TV’s and new cars.
I personally know individuals who have come off the "welfare system" into productive careers after solid education. When these people were in need the "social[ist] programs" helped them.
Not all are of the GIVE ME… GIVE ME mold. There will always be an element of society that wants a hand-out rather than a hand-up.
After the great depression it was 'bigger government' that assisted the CCC and Tennessee Valley Authority, etc. providing jobs for the unemployed who lived in abject poverty.
My generation and the generation after mine have never seen such miserable economic times as we have now. I believe the situation would be doubly bad were it not for the government's rescue monies.
There may be no easy answers, but we are likely on the right track.
BD, let us not forget that the Great Depression was under two Democratic Presidents, Hoover and Roosevelt. Increased taxes on imports lead to less products, the Stock Market crash and the failure of over 9,000 banks also contributed. There are many reasons involved, but the blame goes on the existing President. The TVA and other programs were going to have to be done regardless of who was in office or the need for jobs. The doubt in the Tennessee Valley plus the yearly or twice yearly floodings were destroying the economy and dams had to be built. This would have happened anyway. The ONLY thing that got us out of the depression was WWII.
And for every success story from government assistance, there are thousands more of abuse. If you are going to have an assistance program, put limits in place.
I love MY country and want the best possible world for the people.
