Flying Cheaply - The True Story

For those who have had to fly anywhere in the past year - especially those of us who have used Google to find less expensive flights - you will appreciate this.

Though not being from the British Isles, I didn’t understand the meaning of most of the dialog, the essence of the message is still there.

True, huh?

Don't get me started - one would think the airlines are actually trying to discourage people from flying these days by making it as uncomfortable and inconvenient as possible. I was wide awake dreading my flight across the Atlantic next week thinking of the last flight over where I had to straddle my sleeping "row mate" as he had popped some Ambien, to go to the latrine. The cabin lights were broken, so they weren't able to dim them and to the horror of 1) my wrenched knee and 2) fellow passengers it seemed with all the space "economy plus" offers (extra charge) that I was performing a lap dance. Had he been awake I'd have requested a tip to fund the upgrade of 5 extra inches. (leg room - 5 extra inches of leg room, people.)

Valerie, Flying is so required for travel now days that the airlines can pretty much do what they want to and get away with it. But I would have woke the guy up with an apology that you held it as long as you can. It’s the price one pays for sitting on the aisle seat. As for the extra 5”…all women want that. Even my first wife. On our honeymoon she whispered, “Give me 12 inches and make it hurt.” So I screwed her twice and hit her in the head with a shoe. I did say she was my ex didn’t I?

Fuck, shit, ass - what's not to understand? My older son is in Germany in the AF and wants so much for me to visit. I went around the world when to fly you had to walk through a metal detector and if you didn't set it off - you were good to go. If you looked as if you were carrying drugs - you may get extra scrutiny or porn if you were heading into a Islamic country - but no hassle. I did most of it by land anyway and made it a 2 year excursion. Now? How much money can I give you to not get off the couch? I just don't want the hassle. Sad state of things.

OMG, I love it! Hilarious and so true. Read the fine print and then read it some more.

Blogbehave, Hello, Doc. Don't how you ended up here, but glad you did. Come back anytime. But be careful...you hang out here too much and you may need therapy yourself.:)
