It's amazing how hard it is in Calif for a citzen or even a cop to purchase a handgun. I timed it the other day-- you can sign the papers to buy a house in just about 10 minutes longer.
to buy a handgun you have to take a safety test ($25)
fill out the fed and state forms,then bring in a driver's lic and at least one other form that proves you actually live where you say you do, then wait 10 days.
None of this does a damn thing to stop crime. And forget trying to get a CCW unless you're buddies with a police chief or something.
I bet that for you gun aficionados in CA, the red tape is a nightmare.
