Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, a day early, to those of you who observe this tradition. The rest of you from other countries, man, you don't know what you are missing. Best eating than any other time of the year. Even if it is at the Waffle House.

It is a time to hold those you love and have them close by. For those serving our country, God Bless you guys and gals. Thank you for you sacrifices in keeping us safe and able to enjoy this time of the year, and a prayer for each of you and your families will be forthcoming.

Now, pass the turkey!

Cheers, my new blogfriend!

Did you know there's some soda company that makes turkey and gravy flavored pop? I bet your readers in other countries aren't sorry about missing THAT little treat! :/

Happy Thanksgiving ~

Yeah, I got some of that turkey flavored soda for Soda Boy last year. Along with pumpkin flavored and pepto bismol flavored (seriously)--you need the pepto bismol flavored soda after the turkey one.

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING, COFFEYPOT and SWEET TEA! and relatives and friends. And anyone else reading this.

My apple bumbleberry pie is is the oven, YAY! Now to start on the cranberry salad--after I snack on a little lamb first. MMmm.

I absolutely do know what I'm missing, John, and I hope yours is as great as mine was. Happy Thanksgiving.

clew, I have and, no thank you. I prefer to chew my turkey, thank you very much.

beth, back atcha to you and yours, too. And above all else, YES, GO DAWGS - arf, arf, arf.

cooper, thank you, my canook friend. Because I am so selfish and self absorbed and clueless to anything happening outside NASCAR, the Waffle House and my grandkids, I missed y’all’s Thanksgiving. So you do know what the rest of the world in missing - carbs, calories and bloated bellies accompanied by a nap in the easy chair watching real football.

Happy Thanksgiving, big fella! We did ours last month. Always good to have a big feed and lots of loved ones around!

This morning Biker Buddy and I were telling each other the things we were thankful for and I said, giving him a hug, "I am thankful you are such a long drink of water."

He responded, "Well, I guess that's better than a short hork of phlem." (We both laughed so hard we almsot choked.) (GAK!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, coffeypot. Perhaps one day we can sit down at a Waffle House to enjoy a meal, some fellowship - and people watching.

G'day from Australia,

You live in Woodstock? Aw, man, how lucky can you get.

By the time I get to Woodstock (I had to throw that historic line into the mix) I fear Thanksgiving will be over.

Hope you had a great day ....

G'Day David! Thanks for stopping by. If you read back far enough you will see I have an indirect tie to Australia. My ship, USS Frank E Evans was cut in half by the HMAS Melbourne in 1969. Every year, at our reunion, there has been a representative from Australia who was present that night who helped save many of my shipmates lives. I wasn't on board at the time, but I did know some of those who perished.

We have had one reunion in Australia and will be coming back in 2009. I am looking forward to the trip.

Again, welcome and come back anytime.

Thanks so much, Coffeypot. Piano boy carved a sword out of a stick and painted it black. He's thinking of taking fencing lessons. I'd send you some of those cookies--and the pie's pretty good too--if I could push them through the cable.

I was very much under the weather on thursday. I spent the day passed out in my bed - occasionally waking to hear my family laughing and cooking down the hall.

working my way backwards thru your posts.

Seahawks won today.
