I Get No Respect

I just returned from driving Sweet Tea and Dot down to Macon (about a hundred miles south of Atlanta) to meet Dr. Amber for their trip to Tampa to meet the ship for their cruse. The grand kids went with us and rode back with me in Dr. Ambers car. They are funny and I love those two little snots so much, but I get no respect.

We were looking for an exit with gas and food to meet Dr. Amber. We were discussing what kind of breakfast we wanted – Cracker Barrel, fast food, some out-of-the way restaurant, or just crackers and cokes at the gas station. J-Man said, “Let’s do this with some logic. Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Moe.”

Then on the way back, we stopped off at Wal Mart to get some printer cartridges. As we were checking out, Bug showed me some artsy, fartsy wooden heads of horses, cows, pigs, a nurse, etc. She said they were to hold your glasses. When you put your glasses in the slot, it made it look like the statue was wearing glasses. Strange but cute!

On the way home she ask if I liked them. I said they were okay, and J-Man asked where my glasses were. I told him they were in my pocked because I only needed them to read. Bug ask why I didn’t ware them all the time and I told her, “Because I don’t have to. Besides, you wouldn’t want me to put something on to mar the beauty of this gorgeous face would you? She said, looking up at me with a squint and as serious as a little shit can said, “Yeah! A sack!” After I got through laughing, I beat her. Ingrate! I get no respect.

Why does the phrase "paybacks are hell" immediately pop into my mind, Coffeypot? Just askin'. ;-)

I guess that it just is. Like, when she tries to give a kiss I roll up in a ball and go "Yuck, eew, girl cooties, get away." But she always seems to win. She doesn't take any stuff off Paw Paw.

Hey Rodney, that's the sign of a great relationship - you can harass each other and laugh about it! You are a very lucky man, Coffeypot! I want me some of those little snots one day.

Kids say the darndest things. Always will.

I still remember Art Linkletter's segment interviewing the kids.

I believe that today's kids might be a bit more bold.

Man -- you shoulda called me! Macon's about the halfway point from me to you! We could have had lunch, or breakfast, or something!

And Bug *obviously* gets her sens of humor for her grandad. I'm just sayin'.

I think I like the "eeny, meeny, miney, moe" the best.

What was that show Art Linkletter hosted...Kids Say The Darndest Things, or something like that?

My nephew says stuff like that all the time. I can't help but laugh most times.

gawilli, grandkids are the greatest thing put on this earth. They remind you of how much fun you had when yours were first born, without silly things like having a career, making a living and building a family getting in the way. Just pure love.

brother dave, the Art Linkletter series with the little kids is some of the best old re-runs I have ever seen. I wonder where those kids are not. The have to be in their 50’s and 60’s.

klee and grizzbabe, my grandkids are blessed to have two parents who love to laugh. It’s not the perfect TV family household, but they do laugh a lot.

rwa, they are the funniest when they try to use words they think they know and pronounce them in strange and weird ways. Like Bug told me yesterday that she wants to be a Po-tographer when she grows up.

Mary, then you know how funny and sweet they can be. It’s fun laughing with them.

Completely off subject, but the subject of Macon hardly ever comes up where I live. They have a hockey team named the Whoopee. The Macon Whoopee. Most brilliant team name in sports.

Those kids are hilarious. I love the one about logic and eeny meeny miney moe! LOL!

if you give it you have to be a sport and get it back.

I love knowing who I can harass. These are the same people that can give it back to me just as good.

I'll take the sack. It would make a perfect picture to put on my blog

cooper, I always though the Calgary Crosses would be a good name for a hockey team.

Mary, don't encourage cooper green. He is just learning English. Cooper, it is May-Kun, not May-Kin. But you are right. It would be a great name for a team.

her indoors, every stage of their development has been both fun and a learning experience for me. And they are extremely huggable.

teri, believe me, they can dish out as good as the get.

pamela, I agree. I definitely have a face for radio.
