I've been in several of those Divisions, and many those descriptors aren't far off the mark!
Thanks, TCI, for all you did and do. And welcome home!
I had to go look. We have the Ditty Dorito pasted in the shadow box among a few other patches and above the Bronze Star. Have a Buffalo next to it.
Just glad there's no Purple Heart in there.
Rita, Except for john Kerry, I never make fun of the Purple Heart. And thanks are due for that shadow box.
Loved those. Thanks for sharing!
I sort of worked somewhere way down under the puking dragon...
Coffey: I had an uncle that had two purple hearts, fighting in Sicily during WWII.
When he passed away a few years ago, they had a pin that read, "The Last Man".
I have yet to find out what that stood for, but you know it can't have been good.
i know a couple more you can add just off the top of my head that i served under or with while deployed - the first one is the sustainment brigade under 1st cav inf div, & its called 15th sustainment bde with a smaller horse head on it than the first cav patch... i was one of the first units to be authorized to wear it as a combat patch back in 2006-2007... but we called it the 'my little pony' patch.... another unit i served under/with while deployed to Iraq was the 13th sustainment bde, and if you have ever seen it you can agree, as we soldiers who served with that time affectionately called their patch the 'exploding asshole' patch... one more is oldest patch in the us military recognized by the official heraldry assctn. of the military, it is from the historic 81st infantry division of WWI fame still in use day by a reserve division, but its nickname due to it having a wildcat logo is the 'pussy patch'... no joke
