Sub Service Anniversary

Today is the 110 anniversary of our Submarine Force.

So if you know any 'Squids' or former 'Squids', give them a shout and tell them you appreciate what they have done for your country.

I know that Airman Mom's and Pamela's over at The Dust Will Wait husbands were submariners, so to you two guys, thanks for your long days and nights without sun or stars and for keeping the seas safe.

My stepdad's a retired 24-year career submariner. I almost did it myself but opted for the Army instead. As a kid my first job was at the base O-Club at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and it was fascinating hosting the annual Submarine Balls, with a couple Medal of Honor recipients in attendance. I got to meet Ned Beach there when I was 17.

Secretia, thank you, but serve is all I did. Not like some of the guys are doing now.

Steve, that is awesome and thank you and your dad for serving - even though you went the dirt pounding way. :)

Pamela, hubs should smile and be proud. I am for him.

Awwww. Reminds me of an old Seabie (sp?) I used to work with back in a nursing home in PA. He was a WW2 Vet.

Thanks for your service and all that you do for those serving and their families.
xoxo
